Pandora to My Mom
The birthday of my mom is getting near and near, and I am so confused what to have as her birthday gift. Being a poor student, I cannot afford something expensive, and being the fiftieth birthday for my mom, I want to get her something different from those we gave her in the past. In order to save money, she always told us not to buy her anything as present, a DIY birthday card was all she wanted and appreciated.
Because of this, I used to call her ‘greedy Grandest’—a character in a novel called Eugenie Grandest who cares nothing but saving money. However, I know for my mom, it is unfair to call her so. With four children to rely on you for everything, you must count every coin and make it to good use, right?
Anyway, I am a college student now and I am doing some part time jobs, so, I am totally able to buy some nice gifts for my mom besides self-made paper cards. Considering the fact that mom spent little in jewelries which according to her is a total luxury in life, I decide to buy her some accessories.
When I think of jewelries, the name Pandora come to my mind, I like their styles which would bring vitality to a woman of my mother’s age, and more importantly, I can afford something from that brand for its prices.
Searching on-line for discount Pandora jewelry, I find a bangle would be a good choice. A moderate style of bangle is neither too glaring nor too dull, and really can bring a little change to my mom’s usual style.
To make sure that what I choose is really suitable for my mom, I call my sister to give her opinion. Looking at the photo of the bangle, with wide-opened eyes, she says: “You choose this for mom? To be frank, I thought it was for you.” A little disappointed, I explain to her why I choose this brand and this type: first, affordable; second, not too eye-catching; and finally, it really can make a little change to my mom’s boring dressing style.
After hearing my reasons for buying this, my sister is with me and fully convinced that such a gift is special and suitable. Together we place order on line, and waiting, excitingly, for the coming of this little gift—a Pandora box.
