SNAPSHOT: Slept-in, messy hair with surprising bold red lips.
THE SCOOP: Known for his innovative pairings of upscale fabrics like satin with easygoing wool in a relaxed fit, backstage beauty at Richard Chai’s Fall 2010 collection reflected the designer’s signature style of elegant-meets-casual.
For the makeup, Westman found her inspiration from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s title character in “The Little Prince,” though with a feminine, sultry twist. Vivid red lips stood out against nude eyes and clean skin just gently touched with luminizer and finishing powder. “If you do a red lip, you’ve got to make sure your lips are exfoliated first, with either a warm wet towel or a lip scrub. And lipliner to create a crisp line around the mouth is a must too,” advises Westman.
Hair complimented the aesthetic of the casual clothing, with messy bedhair made fuller with clip-in hair pieces and styling cream for volume and texture. “It’s your classic wake-up-the-next-day bedhair,” says Rizzieri.
GET THE LOOK – MAKEUP: Westman dusted PhotoReady Translucent Finishing Powder to clean the skin, and set eyes with brightening nude shades from theIlluminance Palette in Not Just Nudes. The highlight of the face – the bold red lip – is a sneak peek at the Suede Rhapsody Multi-Use Palette that Westman designed, which will debut in drugstores in the Fall.

GET THE LOOK – HAIR: Hair was blow dried straight and then flat ironed for smoothness, with Bumble & Bumble Grooming Cream and Styling Cream applied all over for increased texture and volume. Clip-in hair pieces were added to models with longer locks, for the appearance of fuller and mussier hair.
