Vampire Diaries Stars Talk Twilight Comparisons
It’s the latest vampire drama out there, but the cast and writers of “Vampire Diaries” aren’t too worried about being the comparisons surrounding them.
With films like the “Twilight” series and shows like HBO’s “True Blood” there’s sure to be competition, but Nina Dobrev, who plays mortal heroine Elena Gilbert in “Vampire Diaries” says otherwise.
She tells Nylon magazine that she realizes the obvious similarities, “But once you continue, there’s a whole other side of it that goes a lot deeper. It’s about letting everyone know that we’re different but we all respect each other.”
With Season 1 coming to a close in February, the show has already gained a large following as it is averaging twice the audience of the CW’s other hit, “Gossip Girl.”
